Bird Sitting Toronto started as a dedicated bird sitting service in Toronto, providing trusted care for companion birds while their owners were away. Over time, we noticed a growing need in the community: bird owners who could no longer care for their feathered companions and needed help finding them safe, loving new homes.
That realization led us to expand our mission. We built the BST Rehoming portal to connect birds in need with qualified, caring adopters throughout the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. Every bird deserves a home where they are loved, understood, and properly cared for, and we are committed to making that happen.
Today, BST Rehoming serves as a bridge between bird owners facing difficult transitions and adopters ready to welcome a new companion into their lives. We take pride in every successful match and every bird that finds its forever home through our platform.
Our AI chat interview evaluates each applicant's experience, home environment, and compatibility to help match every bird with the right adopter.
Every application goes through a multi-step review process. AI assessment plus human oversight ensures only qualified adopters are selected.
Our commitment does not end at adoption. We connect new owners with previous caregivers and provide resources to ensure a smooth transition for every bird.

We built BST Rehoming to honour that emotional weight. Our process is designed to give owners peace of mind: the knowledge that their bird won't just find any home, but the right home. BST Rehoming is led by Samantha Khela, Founder of Bird Sitting Toronto. With years of hands-on experience caring for companion birds of all species, Samantha built BST from a passion for avian welfare and a belief that every bird deserves a safe, loving home.
The BST team includes dedicated volunteers and bird enthusiasts who review applications, coordinate meet-and-greets, and provide support throughout the rehoming process. Together, we work to ensure that every bird placed through our platform lands in the best possible home.
