Why budgies get rehomed

Budgies are usually rehomed because life changed, not because anything went wrong — a move to a smaller place, a new baby, an allergy in the family, or a bird bought for a child who has grown up and left. They are also the species most often bought on impulse, which is nobody's fault and is very fixable: a budgie that has been fed and talked to will settle into a new home within a fortnight.
