When macaws come through BST rehoming, we look for experienced homes that can offer room, routine, and realistic noise tolerance.

A well-socialized macaw is usually gentle, but their beaks demand respect — they can crack a brazil nut. Confident, experienced handling is essential, especially during the settling-in period.
We'd almost never approve that — macaw calls easily penetrate concrete walls. A detached home is the realistic minimum.
